Peter Wehmeyer - Direct TrafficPeter Wehmeyer
President and founder of Direct Traffic Management Inc.

Peter combines his 23 years of experience and knowledge in the traffic control industry with a personal drive to make the industry safer and more efficient moving forward. Peter serves on the Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7 Review Committee and the Ontario Road Builders Association (ORBA) Occupational Health & Safety Committee. In 2012 Peter received the 2012 ORBA Distinguished Service Award. He has a strong commitment to the improvement of traffic control and safety across the industry.

Peter is also committed to our local community here in Hamilton and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and sits on the board of directors for Neighbour 2 Neighbour, a local charitable organization supporting single parent families, offering many educational children’s’ programs and supporting Hamilton families in need of assistance of many different types.

Joe Richards - Direct TrafficJoe Richards
Vice President – Operations

Joe has over 20 years experience in the industry from both the traffic management side and the contractor side as well. As a result he has an ability to understand the customers’ needs better and brings a unique perspective to his work. Joe can manage projects of all sizes from the pre-bid estimating right through to job completion and all the steps in between. Joe understands the traffic control industry very well and embraces new and old methods to ensure the safest and most efficient way to get a job done. Joe has unrivaled experience and relationships in the entire construction and engineering industry. In addition to all his other duties, Joe is also our lead trainer.

Derek O'Brien - Direct TrafficDerek O’Brien
Operations Manager

Derek’s more than 10 years experience in traffic management has seen him rise quickly to his current position. He has a broad scope of experience during that time and brings a unique set of tools to his job. Derek is an excellent customer guy and continues to work on building his many relationships within the industry. He is able to relate to customers on their level and understand them well, which allows him to solve problems quickly and efficiently for them. As Operations Manager, Derek has many responsibilities at Direct Traffic Management and works with his team to ensure smooth and efficient use of resources.

Manager, Sales, Rentals & Installations

Nick has over 21 years in the industry at various levels. He has worked in the field setting up and removing traffic control, and in the office as a manager looking after the needs of some large scale clients.

Nick has an excellent reputation for outstanding customer service and is diligent when looking after a client’s needs from start to finish of any project size. Nick’s in depth knowledge of the signing industry in particular is a welcome addition to our team’s dynamic and will allow us to gain more insight into our customer’s needs before they even know them.

Derek BailieDerek Bailie

Derek has worked in the industry for over 23 years. He began his career with Barricade Traffic Services as a labourer and had worked his way up to supervisor. He worked for 12 years with the 407 ETR in the maintenance department as a supervisor where he gained valuable experience outside of t traffic control in areas such as winter maintenance, contact administration, road painting execution, and various other things to round out his knowledge of the construction industry. Derek join the Direct team in 2016 and has added a fresh perspective on our services and continues to add value to our company.

Dan Marshall

Dan joined the Direct Traffic team in 2012 after spending time at a couple of other traffic control companies. Dan has extensive experience from the field to supervisory level and has a wealth of knowledge to share with our employees and our customers. Dan’s strong problem solving background is a critical asset to our nightly operations and ongoing training of all of our staff.

Celina Côté

As our Human Resources Manager, Celina adds a level of professionalism that is lacking in our industry when it comes to hiring and management of our most critical asset, our people. Celina has great experience in the manufacturing sector and a number of other industries as well as experience in other provinces. She is a great communicator with our people and her ongoing role will be to develop  and maintain programs for our staff at a level far beyond our competitors.
