2020 Training

In 2020 we will have training at our Mississauga location on the following dates. These dates may also take place in Hamilton if the majority of attendees are closer to that location. Please note that dates are subject to change or cancellation dependant on class size, we need at least 6 registered students to run the class.

Additionally we can book individual training sessions for a large group on a date of your choosing and at your location or one closer to you. These classes should be booked at least four weeks prior and are subject to some additional charges for expenses and/or travel costs.

About Our Training

Direct Traffic Management has decided to utilize the vast experience of our staff combined thousands of hours of field experience and the practical application of our policies and procedures to offer traffic control training to contractors, engineering firms and other industry professionals who require this training as part of their occupational health and safety requirements.

The Course

The course will consist of:

Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) Book 7 – Temporary Conditions Manual

  • Review of background of the Ontario Traffic Manual and Book 7
  • Functional use of Book 7 and how to locate information within the manual
  • Practical application of Book 7
  • Theory behind the guidelines used within Book 7
  • Updated information based on the new version coming out in the near future

Real Practical Application of Temporary Traffic Control

  • Planning the work zone & traffic requirements
  • Administration and documentation
  • Set up & maintain & removal of traffic control
  • Book 7 and OHSA Act & Regulations

Liability and Risk Management

  • Understanding the role of liability regarding traffic control
  • Learning to minimize exposure to risk whenever possible
  • Looking at all levels and parties involved in the traffic control process

Tested and Certified

  • Upon course completion, all students will be presented with a wallet card for OHSA compliance to show they attended the training course. Certificates will be issued to those participants who pass the minimum required score on the exam.

Courses will be one day in length with a maximum amount of valuable information presented to students that they will be able to translate to use in the field. We offer the ability to modify presentation to best suit the needs of your staff attending the course.


Each one day course will cost $240.00 plus HST per person; this includes all course materials and certificates.
A discount of 15% person is applicable for any group larger than 10 attendees. Expense fees may apply for courses held outside of the Golden Horseshoe area.
